Truck Canopy Buyer's Guide: How to Choose the Right One
Share
Buying your first truck canopy? This guide walks through the decisions that matter so you get the right one the first time.
1. Confirm fitment
Canopies are model-specific. You need your truck's make, model, year and bed length. We verify fitment before your canopy is built so it seals and sits correctly.
2. Choose your material
Aluminium is lightweight, rust-proof and durable — ideal for Canadian weather and work use. (See our aluminium vs. fibreglass comparison.)
3. Windows or solid panels?
Sliding windows give visibility and ventilation. Solid MOLLE / flat panels maximise security and let you mount gear inside. Pick based on how you use the bed.
4. Think about security
Look for lockable doors and windows and a rigid shell. If you carry tools or valuables, make security a priority.
5. Plan for racks and accessories
If you'll carry a rooftop tent, kayaks or ladders, add crossbars. Consider interior LED lighting and a side tool box too.
6. Budget for install
Factor in installation. Our no-drill mobile install comes to you across BC's Lower Mainland; shipping is available Canada-wide.
7. Check the total value
Weigh durability, weight, security and resale — not just sticker price. (See how much a canopy costs in Canada.)
